The Artist Behind The Ink
A little story about the hands, heart, and imagination behind Gajah Nakal.
NICE TO MEET YOU!
Hey there! I'm Rahmat Hidayat Adi Saputra, an independent illustrator and graphic designer from Indonesia, and the creative mind behind Gajah Nakal.
I've spent over 10 years turning ideas into illustrations, designs, and visual stories. My work ranges from bold t-shirt graphics, merchandise artwork, and custom lettering to mascots, logos, posters, and album covers.
Everything starts with a sketch.
I believe great artwork comes from imagination, patience, and the human touch. That's why my illustrations are drawn manually, not generated by AI. Every line, detail, and composition is carefully created through my own artistic process.
I mainly work with Adobe Photoshop, producing high-quality digital artwork, including print-ready designs and editable layered PSD files.
I love experimenting with different visual styles, from dark and intricate illustrations to colorful, playful, and psychedelic artwork. Every project is a new opportunity to explore something different.
For me, illustration isn't just about making something look good. It's about creating something original, meaningful, and memorable.
Thanks for stopping by and getting to know a little about me!
My Creative Process
01 — IDEAS & ROUGH SKETCHES
Every great artwork starts with an idea. I begin with rough, hand-drawn sketches to explore concepts, compositions, and creative directions.
02 — REFINEMENT & LINE ART
Once the concept is selected, I refine the illustration, developing cleaner lines, stronger compositions, and carefully crafted details. Every stroke is drawn manually, without AI-generated artwork.
03 — FINAL ARTWORK & DELIVERY
I bring the artwork to life with final details, colors, and finishing touches. The completed design is prepared in high resolution, with print-ready files and editable layered PSD files when required.
